Episode 3: Unspoken Feelings
Scene 1: Anum’s Late-Night Thoughts
Setting: Anum’s bedroom, late at night. The room is dimly lit, with only a bedside lamp casting a warm glow. Anum is sitting on her bed, her back against the headboard, deep in thought. She’s holding a cup of tea, staring off into the distance.
Anum: (thinking to herself) Imran Khan… He’s so demanding, so critical. Every time I think I’ve done enough, he finds something else to point out. Who does he think he is?
She sighs, her thoughts lingering on the moments they’ve clashed at work, remembering how his stern gaze makes her second-guess herself, and how his relentless drive pushes everyone around him to their limits.
Anum: (frustrated, still in her thoughts) He’s so rude! Always talking down to me like I’m just another employee. Why can’t he see how hard I’m working?
Anum takes a sip of her tea, trying to calm herself, but her mind keeps wandering back to Imran’s piercing eyes and the way he challenges her. She suddenly shakes her head, realizing where her thoughts are leading.
Anum: (speaking aloud, cutting off her thoughts) Why am I even thinking about him? He’s just my boss. That’s all he is—nothing more.
She puts down her cup of tea a bit too forcefully, as if trying to shake off the thoughts. She leans back against the headboard, closing her eyes, determined to clear her mind of Imran.
Anum: (muttering to herself) I have enough on my plate without getting distracted by him. Focus, Anum. You’ve got bigger things to worry about.
With that, she pulls the covers over herself, trying to push away the lingering thoughts of Imran as she prepares to sleep. But the slight frown on her face hints that he’s not so easily dismissed.
Scene 2: Imran’s Struggle
Setting: Imran’s office. It’s late, and the office is quiet. Imran is sitting at his desk, staring at his computer screen, but his mind is elsewhere. He’s thinking about the meeting with Anum earlier that day.
Imran: (thinking to himself) Why did I act that way? I shouldn’t have been so harsh with her. She was just doing her job.
He leans back in his chair, rubbing his temples as he tries to make sense of his feelings. Imran remembers the moment when he first saw Anum in the conference room—how he was drawn to her without understanding why.
Imran: (frustrated with himself) I need to stay focused. This is business, nothing more.
But despite his efforts to brush off his feelings, Imran can’t deny the impact Anum has had on him. Her calm demeanor, her determination—everything about her seems to challenge him in ways he never expected.
Imran: (sighing, whispering to himself) Why is she getting under my skin like this?
Scene 3: Family Tensions Rise
Setting: The Malik household, dining room. The family is having dinner, but the atmosphere is tense. Arham is quietly eating, while Farhan, Shazia, and Anum exchange worried glances.
Shazia: (breaking the silence, gently) Arham, have you thought any more about your decision? Dropping out of college is a big step.
Arham: (looking up, defensive) I’ve made up my mind, Ammi. I need to figure things out on my own.
Farhan: (calmly) We just want what’s best for you, beta. But you need to have a plan. What do you want to do next?
Arham: (sighing) I don’t know yet, Abbu. I just know that college isn’t where I need to be right now.
Anum: (softly) Arham, we’re here to support you, but we’re also worried. Maybe you should take some time to think about your options?
Arham looks at his sister, appreciating her concern, but feeling misunderstood.
Arham: (firmly) I’ve thought about it, Anum. I just need some space to figure things out.
The room falls silent again, the tension thick in the air. Shazia and Farhan exchange glances, unsure of how to reach their son. Anum feels a pang of worry for her brother, but she knows she can’t push him too hard.
Scene 4: An Unexpected Call
Setting: Anum’s bedroom, later that night. Anum is lying in bed, trying to fall asleep, but her mind is still restless. Suddenly, her phone buzzes. She reaches for it and sees Imran’s name on the screen.
Anum: (surprised, thinking) Why is he calling me so late?
She hesitates for a moment before answering.
Anum: (trying to sound calm) Hello?
