Episode 7: Anum’s Struggle and Imran’s Realization
Scene 1: Late Monday Night – Anum’s Room
Anum lies in bed, feeling restless. She can’t stop thinking about Imran. She’s angry and hurt that he didn’t tell her he was leaving the country.
Anum (talking to herself): Why am I even missing him? He didn’t bother to tell me he was going. But why would he? I’m not his wife, or some kind of queen. I need to stop thinking about him.
She keeps grumbling to herself until she finally falls asleep, her thoughts still spinning around Imran.
Scene 2: The Next Few Days – Office and Home
Days go by, and Anum is distracted at work, feeling sad and bored. At home, Imran’s absence continues to frustrate her.
One evening, as she returned home from work, she sensed tension in the air. Her brother Arham was standing outside their father’s room, looking anxious. Their father was inside, clearly upset about Arham’s decision to drop out of college.
When Arham saw Anum, he ran to her, pleading, “Api, please save me. Papa is so angry with me. I don’t have the courage to face him.”
Anum reassured him, “Don’t worry, let’s talk to him together. I’m here for you.”
They enter their father’s room, where he sits silently, fuming. Anum gently tries to convince him to listen to Arham’s ideas about starting a business.
Anum: Papa, please give him a chance. He has a business idea that might work. Just hear him out.
Their father, still angry, reluctantly agrees.
Father: Okay, Arham, tell me your idea.
Arham explains his business plan. Their father listens quietly, then gets up to leave.
Arham called out to him, he stops at the door and turned around, saying, “If you need any help to start your business, just let me know, okay?” Then he left.
Anum and Arham sat in shock. After a moment, they burst into laughter, hugging each other with happiness. The tension had lifted, and they were overjoyed.
Meanwhile, in Dubai – Imran’s Struggles
Days in Dubai were even worse for Imran. He couldn’t escape his feelings for Anum, and it was driving him crazy. One day, he was sitting in a café, lost in thought when suddenly, his childhood friend, Sameer, appeared.
“Imran! How are you, man?” Sameer greeted him with a big smile.
Imran snapped out of his thoughts and looked up. “Oh, hi, Sameer. I’m good. How about you?”
Sameer noticed Imran’s distracted state and teased, “Which lady has you so lost in thought?”
Imran, still a bit out of it, mumbled, “This Anum…”
Realizing what he just said, Imran looked shocked. Sameer burst into laughter, “Anum, huh? Now I have to know the whole story. Spill it, man! It’s been ages since I’ve heard you mention a girl’s name.”
Imran tried to dodge the question, but knowing he couldn’t hide anything from Sameer, he ended up telling him everything—his feelings for Anum, his frustration, all of it.
After listening, Sameer laughed out loud, “Are you mad? Why are you running from this feeling? My friend, you’re in love, and you’re running away from it! Love is a beautiful feeling, Imran. You should embrace it, not avoid it.”
Imran stayed quiet for a while, then asked, “But what if she doesn’t feel the same way?”
Sameer, with a knowing smile, replied, “Well, if that’s the case, then you need to observe her body language. Does she look at you when she thinks you’re not watching? Does she care about you? Does she smile when you’re around? If she takes extra care with her appearance when she knows she’ll see you, these are signs she might feel the same. If you notice these signs, don’t wait, my friend. Go for it!”
Imran felt a wave of relief wash over him after talking to Sameer. Accepting his feelings made him feel lighter. He called his mom and said, “Mom, I’m missing you. I’m coming back home.”
His mom, filled with love, replied, “I miss you too, beta. Please come home soon.”
With a renewed sense of purpose, Imran packed his bags and left the hotel for the airport. This time, he was a new man, ready to embrace his love for Anum and to find out if she felt the same.
Back in Pakistan – Anum’s Struggle
That night, Anum was again restless. She cursed herself and Imran for making her feel this way. “Why am I even thinking about him? He’s so arrogant and rude. He never likes anything I do. And he didn’t even tell me he was leaving the country. Even if he comes back, I don’t care. Be strong, Anum. Don’t let him affect you.”
But deep down, she knew it wasn’t that simple.
