Episode 1: The Mysterious Invitation
[Scene: Sarah’s Apartment]
Sarah is sitting on her couch, scrolling through her phone. The room is quiet, with only the ticking of a clock on the wall. Suddenly, she hears a faint rustling at her front door. She gets up, walks over, and opens the door. There’s no one there, but she notices an envelope on the floor. She picks it up and opens it.
Sarah: (reading aloud) “You are invited to a dinner party. Your presence is important.” (pauses) What? No name, no return address…this is strange.
She looks at the address written on the card.
Sarah: (thinking) The old mansion at the edge of town? Who would invite me there?
She frowns, confused, but a curious smile slowly forms on her face.
Sarah: (to herself) Well, this could be interesting. I’ve never been to that place before.
Sarah, an adventurous young woman with a love for mystery novels, decides to go. She’s always been curious and loves solving puzzles, which sometimes gets her into tricky situations.
[Scene: The Mansion Entrance]
Sarah arrives at the mansion. It’s even bigger and more intimidating than she imagined. The building looks old, with ivy crawling up its stone walls. She hesitates at the large wooden door, then takes a deep breath and knocks. The door creaks open by itself.
Sarah: (whispers) Hello? Is anyone here?
She steps inside, and the door slams shut behind her, making her jump. The hallway is dimly lit, with old paintings lining the walls.
Sarah: (to herself) This place gives me the creeps…
As she walks further in, she hears voices coming from a room nearby. She follows the sound and enters a grand living room, where five other people are standing around, looking just as confused as she is.
David: (noticing Sarah) You too?
David is a sharp-eyed journalist in his 30s, always looking for a good story. He’s smart and a bit skeptical, never fully trusting anyone. He keeps his emotions in check, preferring to observe and analyze.
Sarah: (nodding) Yeah, I got an invitation. I’m Sarah.
Emily: (quietly) I’m Emily. Do you know what’s going on?
Emily is a quiet and reserved librarian in her late 20s. She’s shy but very observant, with a love for books and a deep knowledge of history. She often blends into the background but notices details that others miss.
Mark: (shaking his head) No idea. I’m Mark. This whole thing is weird.
Mark is a tech-savvy entrepreneur in his early 30s, confident and always looking for the next big idea. He’s used to taking risks and making quick decisions but doesn’t like being in situations where he’s not in control.
Lisa: (with a nervous laugh) I’m Lisa. Maybe it’s just a prank? A strange one, but still.
Lisa is a cheerful kindergarten teacher in her late 20s. She’s friendly, caring, and always tries to see the good in people. But underneath her warm exterior, she’s quick to get anxious when things don’t go as planned.
Mr. White: (sternly) I don’t think this is a prank. There’s something else going on here.
Mr. White is an older man in his 60s, with a stern and secretive demeanor. He doesn’t reveal much about himself, but it’s clear he’s been through a lot in life. He’s calm under pressure, but his silence makes the others uneasy.
[Scene: The Dining Room]
Before anyone can ask more questions, a butler appears, dressed in traditional attire. He doesn’t say a word, just motions for them to follow him. He leads them to a large dining room, where a table is set for seven. The room is elegantly decorated, but it feels cold and empty.
Sarah: (looking around) Who’s the host? Why haven’t they shown up?
The butler ignores her and leaves the room silently. The group exchanges uneasy glances before sitting down at the table.
Mark: (trying to lighten the mood) Well, at least the food looks good. Maybe we should eat first and figure this out later?
David: (serious) I don’t like this. Why are we here? And why is one chair empty?
Lisa: (nervously) Maybe someone else is coming?
As they begin to eat, the tension in the room is palpable. Everyone is on edge, waiting for something to happen. But nothing does—at least, not yet.
Emily: (softly) I have a bad feeling about this.
Sarah: (nodding) Me too. But we’ll figure it out. We have to.
The camera pans out, showing the group sitting at the table, the empty chair looming ominously at the end. The scene fades as the guests continue their uneasy meal, unaware of the dark secrets that are about to unfold.
