Chand Ki Roshni (The Moonlight’s Glow)

Episode 4: Unspoken Feelings

Scene 1: Morning at Sara’s House

(The soft sunlight filters into the room as Sara stands in front of her mirror, fixing her dupatta. Zoya walks in with a mischievous smile, eyeing Sara’s reflection.)

Zoya (teasing tone):
“Oho, madam aaj kuch zyada hi ready nahi ho rahi? Ali ke liya ho raha hai kya?”
(Oh wow, someone’s getting extra ready today. Just for Ali, are we?)

Sara (flustered, rolling her eyes):
“Kuch bhi toh nahi, Zoya. Bas normal tayaar ho rahi hoon, aur waise bhi college jaa rahe hain.”
(Nothing like that, Zoya. I’m just getting ready normally, and besides, we’re going to college.)

Zoya (grinning, stepping closer):
“Haan, haan, college hi toh. Lekin yeh blush kaisa? Oh ho, Sara ke dil mein kuch kuch hota hai!”
(Yeah, yeah, just college. But what’s with the blush? Oh my, something’s happening in Sara’s heart!)

Sara (laughing, trying to hide her nervousness):
“Zoya, tum na bas chup ho jao. Tumhein toh bas mazaak sujhata hai!”
(Zoya, just keep quiet. You’re always in the mood for teasing!)

Zoya (leaning closer, whispering):
“Jab Ali ko dekhogi aaj, toh kya tum usse phir pucho gi, ‘Kab miloge?’ Hmm?”
(When you see Ali today, are you going to ask him again, ‘When will we meet?’ Hmm?)

Sara (blushing harder, pretending to focus on her earrings):
“Zoya! Itni over mat bano. Kuch aisa nahi hai.”
(Zoya! Don’t be so overdramatic. It’s nothing like that.)

Zoya (laughing loudly):
“Bas yahi toh aata hai tumhari zabaan par — ‘aisa kuch nahi hai.’
(All you say is, ‘It’s nothing like that.

Sara (blushing again, throwing a pillow at Zoya):
“Chup karo, Zoya!”
(Shut up, Zoya!)

(They both laugh, and the scene fades out as they leave for college.)

Scene 2: Afternoon in Ali’s Office

(Ali is at his desk, typing furiously, trying to finish his work. His focus is on the screen, but his mind is clearly elsewhere. Danish enters the room, noticing Ali’s hurried pace.)

Danish (leaning on the door, smirking):
“Arre bhai, yeh kya express speed chal rahi hai? Dheere dheere, tumhe nahi pata, jaldi ka kaam shaitaan ka hota hai!”
(Oh man, why are you working at express speed? Slow down, you don’t know? Rushed work is the devil’s work!)

Ali (without looking up, frustrated):
“Bas karde, yaar. Aur kitna sataaye ga? Tumhe meri nervousness ka andaza nahi hai.”
(Just stop it, bro. How much more will you tease me? You have no idea how nervous I am.)

Danish (laughing, walking over to sit on Ali’s desk):
“Accha? Nervous? Tumhara woh shero jaisa dil aaj itna kyun dhak-dhak kar raha hai?”
(Really? Nervous? Why is your lion’s heart beating so fast today?)

Ali (sighing, slouching in his chair):
“Yaar, tum nahi samjhoge. Jab tumhare saamne woh khadi hoti hai na, toh shero ka bhi haal chuhe jaisa ho jata hai.”
(Bro, you won’t understand. When she’s standing in front of me, even a lion turns into a mouse.)

Danish (bursting out laughing):
“Wah, wah! Yeh toh naya hai! Sheeron ka chuhon mein badalne ka jadoo ab Sara ke paas hai?”
(Wow, wow! This is new! So now Sara has the magic to turn lions into mice?)

Ali (leaning back in his chair, staring at the ceiling dreamily):
“Yaar, souch raha hoon… agar woh bhi waise hi feel karti hai mere liye, toh seedha usko propose hi kar doon.”
(Bro, I’m thinking… if she feels the same way about me, I should just propose to her straight away.)

Danish (shocked, eyes wide open, pleasantly surprised):
“Wahhh, mere sheer! Shabash! Ye hoyi na baat! Bilkul sahi faisla hai! Neki ka kaam mein deri kaisi?”
(Wow, my lion! Bravo! Now that’s what I’m talking about! It’s the right decision! Why delay in doing something good?)

Ali (smiling, but a little uncertain):
“Tu samajh raha hai na, Danish? Seedha propose karke phir… kya pata?”
(You get it, right, Danish? Proposing right away… what if…?)

Danish (teasing, leaning forward):
“Arre bhai, kya pata kya? Seedha bolo, ‘Sara, will you marry me?’ aur dekhna kaise wahin par gir jaayegi!”
(Oh man, what do you mean ‘what if’? Just say, ‘Sara, will you marry me?’ and watch her fall right there!)

Ali (blushing, shaking his head):
“Pagal hai tu, waise bhi aisa kuch nahi hai. Par haan, agar usne haan kar di toh phir shaadi ki tayariyaan tu hi karwaye ga!”
(You’re crazy, man. Anyway, it’s not like that. But yeah, if she says yes, then you’ll be the one handling all the wedding preparations!)

Danish (grinning mischievously):
“Karwa doon ga! Bas tum propose karo. Phir main sab dhoom dham se karwaoonga. Toh bhai, abhi decide karo! Ghar jaake propose kar rahe ho ya library mein hi?”
(I’ll handle everything! Just propose to her. Then I’ll make sure everything’s grand. So, bro, decide right now! Are you proposing at home or in the library itself?)

Ali (laughing nervously):
“Tu na, bas mazaak udane ke liye paida hua hai. Ab chup kar ke dekhne de yeh report.”
(You were born just to make fun of me. Now shut up and let me focus on this report.)

Danish (getting up and patting Ali on the shoulder):
“Tumhare report se zyada tumhara dil ki report zaroori hai. Chal, miyan. Good luck!”
(Your heart’s report is more important than this work report. Go on, man. Good luck!)

(Ali smiles, shaking his head as Danish leaves the office. He looks at his phone, the anticipation of seeing Sara again building up inside him.)

Scene 3: At the Library

(Sara is already at the library, sitting at a table with her books open. She looks slightly nervous, glancing at the door. Ali enters, searching for her. Their eyes meet, and Sara’s face lights up with a soft smile.)

Ali (walking over with a smile, sitting down):
“Kaafi pehle aa gayi tum?”
(You came quite early?)

Sara (smiling, a bit shy):
“Haan, bas thoda time mil gaya toh socha kuch padh loon.”
(Yeah, I had some time, so I thought I’d study a bit.)

Ali (glancing around, noticing Zoya isn’t there):
“Zoya nahi ayi?”
(Didn’t Zoya come with you?)

Sara (smiling and answering calmly):
“Haan, usko thoda kaam tha ghar pe, toh woh wapas chali gayi.”
(Yeah, she had some work at home, so she went back.)

Ali (nodding, trying to keep the conversation going):
“Achha… bas tum akeli yahan?”
(Oh, so you’re here alone?)

Sara (with a light laugh):
“Haan, tumhe kya lagta hai, akeli nahi baith sakti?”
(Yeah, what do you think? I can’t sit alone?)

Ali (smiling awkwardly):
“Nahi, nahi, aisa kuch nahi. Bas… pucha.”
(No, no, nothing like that. Just… asking.)

(Sara giggles softly, and Ali feels slightly relieved as the conversation starts to flow more naturally.)

Ali (opening his book, but still focused on her):
“Waise, tum library kaafi pasand karti ho, hai na?”
(By the way, you really like the library, don’t you?)

Sara (nodding, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear):
“Haan, yahan kaafi sukoon milta hai. Aur tum? Tumhe bhi padhna pasand hai?”
(Yeah, it’s very peaceful here. What about you? Do you like studying too?)

Ali (grinning, pretending to think):
“Haan, padhna toh pasand hai, lekin ab tumhare saath aur bhi maza aata hai.”
(Yeah, I like studying, but it’s more fun when you’re here.)

Sara (blushing, looking down at her book to avoid eye contact):
“Zyada bolte ho tum.”
(You talk too much.)

Ali (teasing softly):
“Shayad tumhe meri baatein achi lagti hain, isliye sun rahi ho.”
(Maybe you like what I say, that’s why you’re listening.)

Sara (laughing softly, shaking her head):
“Kuch bhi.”
(Whatever.)

(The two continue their soft conversation, surrounded by the quiet atmosphere of the library. Their feelings grow stronger with each passing moment, though unspoken.)
