There are two color groups where all colors combination revolve. Colors that are across from each other like yellow and purple, green and red, or blue and orange are called complementary colors.  Another color group is the analogous colors. They are three colors that are next to each other on the color wheel. One will be the dominant color (typically a primary color), a secondary color, and tertiary color.

Eye Shape and Styles of Eye Shadows

We love our eyes, they are the windows of our soul, we are blessed with a variety of shapes and sizes, and with each eye, the shape comes different makeup tricks and tips to enhance. Not sure what eye makeup style suits your eye shape? Relax! We’ve got you covered. let’s learn

1- Round Eyes:

Round eyes tend to be equal in width and height, It has visible crease  Another way to decipher if your eyes are round is by looking straight in the mirror and noticing whether or not you can see white on the top or bottom of the iris.

Makeup Style: Take a neutral color pallet in the inner lid and gradually add darker shades toward the outer corner making a  V, with the point angled slightly up towards your temple. Using a liner in the waterline is always a good idea for round eyes and when applying mascara focus on the top lashes.

2- Almond Eyes:  Almond eyes tend to be oval in shape with outer corners pointed and slightly  turn upward like an almond

Makeup Style: The most complimentary style is wing liner thinner on the inner corner and thickens it slightly on the outer corners. This will give extra dimension and shape and help to elongate the eyes. It works well with accentuated eyelashes. Smokey Eyes looks stunning in this shape. Use a deeper color on the outer corners of your eyes, and use a lighter color on the waterline on the bottom.

3- Monolid Eyes: No crease, smooth transition straight up to the brow bone when you open your eyes.

Makeup Style: Draw an eyeliner to bring instant definition. Smudge it once you reach the outer edges. For eyeshades  Keep it simple and clean, take darker tones and definitions as close to the lash line, and then smudged eyeshadow is another way to enhance monolid eyes.

4- Downturned Eyes:  To determine if you have downturned eyes is to look at the outermost corner, If the outer corner points down, then you know you have downturned eyes.

Makeup style: The main aim of your makeup is to create the illusion of a more lifted eye. Start with a primer and nude shade all over your lid and then use medium shades along the crease and smudge upward from the outer corner. A Winged liner is the best option to create an upward illusion. Apply a thin liner and extend it to the 45-degree angle. Keeping the lashes curled and upright will make a huge impact on the shape.

5- Upturned Eyes: Similarly To determine if you have upturned eyes is to look at the outermost corner, If the outer corner points up, then you know you have upturned eyes. This shape is beautiful as you naturally have that cat eye shape.

Makeup Style: Smokey Style is the favorite for this shape of an eye. Add a drama by taking a dark shadow across the lower lid and smudging it out. Don’t be afraid to go a little heavier on the lower lash line too to balance out the shape of the eye.
