Easy Steps of eye makeup for beginners:

Applying eyeshadow is relatively easy. However, learning to apply eye makeup the right way is no simple task. How do you choose the right shade for your eye color and skin tone? Try these simple step-by-step guides and get ready to give those eyes some much-needed drama.

Step #1 Before applying anything to your eyes, clean your eyelids and under your eyes with swaps or rose water to remove any dirt, dust, tiredness, or puffiness.

Step #2 You have to make a base first, moisturize your lids with primer, or if you don’t have eye primer you can apply a mixture of water and vesline. It will make your eye makeup stay put for a longer time.

Step #3  It’s much harder to create a masterpiece without the proper tools. Selection of the right brushes will help you in the right application of shadows. If you are on a beginner level you’ll need a small eye shadow brush, as it is flat and makes the application easier and precise. Next, you’ll need one small and medium-sized blending brush to smoothly blend the shades

Step # 4 Apply foundation to make a super smooth path to spreads your favorite colors on your lids. Choose a shade that’s lighter to your skin tone, a mid-tone that will add a pop of color to your eyes, or a contouring shade that is darker than your skin tone

Step #5 Start first your eye makeup with the basic shades, you can always go crazy with colors and glitters once you’ve got a hold of it.  Depending on the look you’re going for, you can bring this base color all the way up to your brow bone in preparation for a more dramatic smoky eye, or you can stop at the crease of your eye for a basic, everyday look.

Step #6 Choose a mid-tone shade and apply it above the crease line, from outward, and smoothly blend it inwards. Make it look as seamless as possible. The mid-tone can be any shade from neutral to the one that suits your outfit. You can stick to peach, pink, or light orange for a safe bet.

Step #7 Contour eyes with dark color which attract light, so placing a darker tone of shadow in the crease of the eye makes your eyes pop up glamorously. A well-contoured eye also balances out your features for a more done-up look. Make it a point to keep your contour shade lower than the mid-tone shade.

Step #8 Draw a liner on the upper lash line to define your eye shape with a pencil or eyeliner pen. If you like to wear liner on your waterline, so you can trace this line with one of our favorite waterproof eyeliners.

Step # 9 Curl your eyelashes and apply a little amount of mascara to make them thicker. Also, don’t forget to comb your brows to make them in a shape.

Step #10  Now when your eye makeup on the eyelids is done, it’s time to move to the lower lash line. Take a tiny amount of mid-tone shade on the brush, starting from outward glide the brush inward until it meets the highlighting shade, the lighter shade that you applied first. You can even add a touch of kohl close to the waterline of your lower lash for added drama.

Types of Eyeshadows:

Eyeshadows come in different formulations. Depending on your requirements, you can choose from various types of eyeshadow. Here is the list to understand.

Powder Shadow:

Powdered eyeshadows are Highly pigmented and great for experts and beginners. It is the most common type of eyeshadow that you will come across. Available in every color and it blends really easily and comes in various textures. While most powder eyeshadows are matte, you can also find them shimmery and sparkly.  Matte eyeshadows are great for use in the crease and the outer corner of your eyes. Use a fluffy, blending brush to apply the matte powder eyeshadow to ensure that the colors blend seamlessly with no harsh lines.  whereas sparkly eyeshadows are perfect for the center and inner corner of your eyelids.  Use your fingers and gently press the color on your eyelids to get the perfect finish.

Cream Shadows:

The second next to the powder shadow is the cream shadow. It usually comes in a shimmery finish. It has bold, striking, and intensely pigmented colors that blend really well. Available in pots, tubes, and stick formats. Cream eyeshadows are great if you want to create a bold makeup look with no defined edges. However, apart from all uses, there is a drawback that is not suitable for humid weather and also for those who have oily lids because it makes crease easily and meltdown.

Liquid Shadows:

Just like lip gloss, Liquid Shadows also come in a small, translucent bottle that has an applicator wand included. Liquid eyeshadows are great for normal or drier skin types. You can apply it on your eyelids like your lip gloss, It gives a thick and creamy texture to your eyelids and leaves you with intense colorful looks. Liquid eyeshadows are also perfect eyeshadow bases for when you want to layer glitter or sparkly eyeshadows on top and increase their staying power and vibrancy. But as like cream shadows also tends to crease easily so be remembered when going out in hot humid weather because it was the meltdown.

Baked Shadows:

Baked eyeshadows have become a makeup bag staple because of their durability. It’s made with lots of emollients, and it’s baked, usually in an oven, to get its texture. It often has a domed shape and can have swirled or marbled patterns. It’s generally gentler on the pigmentation when used dry. This allows for easy blend-ability and smooth application too. Plus, you can wear the product wet. If intense color is your thing, then this one’s for you.

Textures Of Eyeshadow

Eyeshadow finishes vary by brand; The following are most of the finishes available on the market and do not come from any one specific brand of cosmetics.

  • Matte – Usually has a high level of pigment with no shimmer, sheen, or shine yet gorgeous eye makeup looks. This is perfect for reshaping and defining the eye, you can either create natural looks or layer it up to make something more dramatic. Matte shadows work well on every age range especially mature skin as they won’t attract attention to fine lines or create a crepe-like texture on the lids. Matte is one of the easiest to apply, especially with your fingers. It’s great for beginners.
  • Satin –  It is a medium between matte and frost and is great on all skin types. They give your eyes a hint of shine, without looking too loud or over the top. Persons with mature skin can use a little of this shadow on the eyes.
  • Metallic – Shiny look that resembles actual metal like gold, silver, foil, copper, and bronze. This works well on ebony or darker skin tones. Persons with mature skin or with fine lines and wrinkles should avoid this as it will settle into the lines.
  • Frost – Frosted textured eyeshadows usually have reflective white or silver particles and are very youthful and vibrant. It can be layered on top of other shadows. This finish can accentuate fine lines and wrinkles.
