Episode 2: First Impressions, Lasting Impact
Scene 1: An Unexpected Encounter
Setting: A meeting room at Khan Enterprises. The room is bright, with a big table and several chairs. Anum is already sitting down, focused on some papers in front of her. Imran walks in, ready to start the meeting, but he stops when he sees Anum.
Imran: (pausing at the doorway, thinking to himself) Who is she?
For a moment, Imran is taken aback by Anum’s presence. She’s dressed simply but elegantly, with her hair loosely tied back. Her natural beauty and calm focus catch his attention, and he finds himself staring at her.
Imran: (thinking) She’s so… different. Simple, yet so graceful.
Realizing he’s been staring, Imran quickly snaps out of it, reminding himself to focus on work.
Imran: (calling out, trying to sound firm) Ms. Malik.
Anum looks up, surprised. She stands up quickly, feeling a little nervous under Imran’s intense gaze but stays professional.
Anum: (politely) Yes, Mr. Khan?
Imran: (walking further into the room, all business) Let’s get started. We have a lot to discuss today.
Anum nods and sits back down, while Imran takes his place at the head of the table. Even though he’s now focused on the meeting, a small part of him still wonders why he was so drawn to her just moments ago.
Scene 2: The First Clash
Setting: The same meeting room. The meeting is in progress, and the atmosphere is tense. Anum is confidently presenting her ideas, but Imran, still distracted by his earlier thoughts, starts being overly critical.
Anum: (finishing her presentation) …and that’s my proposal for the new campaign.
Imran: (leaning forward, his tone sharp) Ms. Malik, your ideas are creative, but they’re not practical. Did you think about the budget?
Anum: (trying to stay calm) Yes, Mr. Khan. I’ve made budget adjustments on the next slide.
Imran: (interrupting her) I need more than just adjustments. I need solutions that won’t risk the project.
Anum: (feeling the pressure) I understand, but I think these ideas can be improved to fit the budget.
Imran: (challenging her) Thinking isn’t enough, Ms. Malik. I need certainty.
Anum meets his gaze, her frustration rising but staying professional. The room is filled with tension as Imran’s earlier thoughts of admiration are now replaced by the challenges of their working relationship.
Anum: (firmly) I’ll make the changes and bring a new plan by tomorrow, Mr. Khan.
Imran: (nodding, still serious) See that you do.
The meeting ends, and as Anum gathers her things, Imran watches her leave, feeling both respect and frustration. This is just the start of what looks like a tough, but interesting, working relationship.
Scene 3: Arham’s Decision
Setting: The Malik household, living room. Arham is sitting with his parents, Farhan and Shazia, looking uneasy. Anum enters the room, still a bit shaken from her encounter with Imran but trying to hide it.
Farhan: (noticing Anum) Beta, you’re home just in time. Arham has something to tell us.
Anum: (sitting down, concerned) What’s going on?
Arham: (nervously) I’ve decided to drop out of college.
Shazia: (shocked) Arham! Why would you do that?
Anum: (worried) Arham, are you sure? This is a big decision.
Arham: (defensive) I’ve thought about it for a while. College just isn’t right for me. I need to figure out what I really want to do.
Farhan: (sighing) It’s your choice, Arham, but you need a plan. Dropping out without knowing what you’ll do next isn’t the answer.
Anum: (softly) We’re just worried about you. You don’t have to decide everything right now. Maybe take some time to think it over?
Arham nods, appreciating their concern, but he’s determined in his decision. The family sits in a tense silence, each of them processing the news in their own way.
