Episode 3: New Connections
(Scene 1: The Cafeteria – Continued)
(Ali stands at their table, a friendly smile on his face. Zoya looks between Sara and Ali, clearly enjoying the moment, while Sara tries to mask her excitement.)
Ali (leaning against the table casually):
“Yeh toh koi kamal hogaya, tum log yahan mil gaye. Tum dono kya kar rahi ho?”
(It must be fate that I found you here. What are you two up to?)
Zoya (grinning, clearly enjoying the attention):
“Ham toh sirf lunch kar rahe the. Aap kaise hain, Ali?”
(We were just having lunch. How about you, Ali?)
(Sara, feeling shy, remains quiet, focusing on her sandwich. Ali glances at her, noticing her blush.)
Ali (playfully):
“Sara, tumhara sandwich toh tum se ziyada batein karta hai .”
(Sara, your sandwich seems to be talking more than you are.)
(Sara, caught off guard, looks up at Ali with wide eyes.)
Sara (stammering slightly):
“Uh, nahi… main bas… khana khane mein busy thi.”
(Uh, no… I was just… busy eating.)
(Zoya suppresses a laugh, enjoying the teasing atmosphere.)
Zoya (teasingly):
“Waise, yeh sandwich toh bahut tasty hai hi, lekin main yeh kehna chahti hoon, Ali, tum toh is se zyada interesting ho!”
(By the way, this sandwich is really tasty, but I must say, Ali, you’re definitely more interesting than it!)
(Ali chuckles, clearly liking the banter. Sara looks between the two, feeling a mix of embarrassment and amusement.)
Ali (smiling):
“Shukriya, Zoya! Lekin main chalta hoon. Mujhe kuch doston se milna hai.”
(Thank you, Zoya! But I should get going. I need to meet some friends.)
(Sara’s heart sinks a little, not wanting this moment to end.)
Sara (quickly):
“Uh, wait! Kya tum phir se miloge?”
(Uh, wait! Will you meet us again?)
(Ali looks back at her, a playful smile on his lips.)
Ali (teasingly):
“Kyun nahi? Mujhe toh tum dono se milna acha laga hai. Kal ke liye kya plan hai?”
(Why not? I’d love to meet you both. What’s the plan for tomorrow?)
(Zoya raises an eyebrow, intrigued.)
Zoya (playfully nudging Sara):
“Kal toh hum library jaane wale hain, right, Apa?”
(Tomorrow, we’re going to the library, right, sis?)
(Sara nods, her heart racing, unsure of how to respond.)
Sara (nervously):
“Uh, haan… library.”
(Uh, yeah… the library.)
Ali (grinning):
“Perfect! Mujhe bhi jana tha library, ek accha plan banate hain.”
(Perfect! I’d love to join. Let’s make a good plan for the library.)
(With that, Ali waves goodbye and walks away, leaving Sara and Zoya behind.)
(Scene 2: Back at Home)
(That evening, Sara is in her room, trying to calm her excitement after meeting Ali. She’s pacing around when Zoya walks in, grinning from ear to ear, clearly ready to poke fun at her sister.)
Zoya (leaning against the door, arms crossed, grinning):
“Oho, Apa! Aaj toh tumhare chehre ka rang hi kuch aur hai. Phir kab miloge, haan?”
(Oh wow, sis! There’s something different about your face today. So, when’s the next meeting, hmm?)
Sara (already blushing, trying to act casual):
“Zoya, kya baat kar rahi ho? Maine aisa kuch nahi kaha.”
(Zoya, what are you talking about? I haven’t say about anything like that.)
Zoya (teasing, stepping closer):
“Haan, haan! Bas waise hi din bhar muskurate rehna! Dil mein kya chal raha hai, bolo?”
(Yeah, right! Just smiling all day! What’s going on in that heart of yours, tell me?)
(Sara’s face turns even redder as she fidgets, avoiding Zoya’s teasing gaze.)
Sara (flustered, stammering):
“K-kuch nahi chal raha! Tumhe hamesha mazaak sujhta hai.”
(N-nothing’s going on! You’re always thinking of jokes.)
Zoya (smirking, enjoying her sister’s discomfort):
“Haan, bilkul! Tumhare chehre se toh saari baat samajh aati hai. Kab tak yeh dil ki baatein chhupaogi?”
(Of course! Your face says it all. How long will you hide your feelings?)
(Sara, now extremely flustered, tries to change the topic, hoping to escape Zoya’s relentless teasing.)
Sara (quickly, trying to act casual):
“Acha, yeh sab chhodo. Batao, kal kya pehnogi? Main tumhare kapde press kar deti hoon.”
(Okay, leave all this. Tell me, what will you wear tomorrow? I’ll press your clothes for you.)
(Zoya, catching the quick change in topic, raises an eyebrow and smirks even more, not letting her off the hook.)
Zoya (mocking surprise):
“Arre wah, aaj toh tum badi zimmedaar ho gayi ho! Bari tiyariyan ho rahi hain kal ke liye, hmm… interesting!”
(Oh wow, today you’ve become so responsible! Big preparations happening for tomorrow, hmm… interesting!)
Sara (trying not to laugh, pretending to be focused):
“Zoya, seriously! Batao na, kal kya pehnogi? Mein Tumhare kapde press kar deti hoon!”
(Zoya, seriously! Tell me, what will you wear? I will press your clothes!)
Zoya (teasing further):
“Press toh tum kar rahi ho, lekin kis liye? Kya tumne apne kapdon ke liye bhi aise hi socha hai? Ya phir Ali ko impress karne ke liye koi special outfit dhoond rahi ho?”
(You’re pressing clothes, but for what? Have you thought about your own outfit? Or are you looking for something special to impress Ali?)
(Sara throws her hands up, blushing deeply, as Zoya continues to laugh at her expense.)
Sara (laughing, trying to hide her embarrassment):
“Zoya, tum na! Kuch nahi aisa. Tum apne kapdon ka batao, warna main press nahi karungi!”
(Zoya, you’re too much! There’s nothing like that. Tell me about your clothes, or I’m not pressing anything!)
Zoya (chuckling, sitting on the bed):
“Thik hai, thik hai. Lekin ek baat toh tay hai, Apa. Tumhare dil mein Ali ke liye kuch toh chal raha hai.”
(Alright, alright. But one thing’s for sure, sis. There’s something going on in your heart for Ali.)
(Sara shakes her head, laughing despite herself, as Zoya watches her with a playful glint in her eyes.)
(Scene 3: Ali’s Call to Danish)
(Later that day, Ali is lying on his bed, staring at the ceiling with a dreamy smile on his face. Unable to contain his excitement, he grabs his phone and calls Danish. The phone rings, and Danish picks up after a few seconds.)
Danish (in a playful tone):
“Arre wah! Janaab Ali sahab ne yaad kiya. Kaise yaad kiya aaj?”
(Oh wow! Mr. Ali remembered me. What made you call today?)
Ali (smiling, slightly shy):
“Yaar Danish, tujhe ek baat batani thi. Aaj café mein Sara se mila.”
(Bro, Danish, I have to tell you something. I met Sara at the café today.)
Danish (teasing, instantly interested):
“Accha, accha! Toh phir? Sara madam se kya baatein hui? Dil ka haal batao!”
(Oh really? So, what happened? What did you talk about with Sara? Tell me what’s going on in your heart!)
Ali (sighing, lost in thought):
“Yaar, Danish… jab usne upar dekha na, uski aankhon mein jo chamak thi… jaise saari duniya wahan ruk gayi ho.”
(Bro, Danish… when she looked up, the sparkle in her eyes… it was like the whole world just stopped right there.)
Danish (laughing, interrupting Ali’s dreamy tone):
“Oho! Shaayar Ali sahab! Duniya ruk gayi thi, ya tumhara dimag?”
(Oh ho! Poet Ali, huh? Was the world stopping, or was it just your brain?)
Ali (laughing, ignoring the teasing):
“Arre yaar, seriously! Jab Sara ne mujhe dekha na, ek ajeeb si feeling thi. Jaise woh bhi kuch mehsoos kar rahi thi.”
(Come on, man, seriously! When Sara looked at me, there was this strange feeling. Like she was feeling something too.)
Danish (chuckling, clearly enjoying the moment):
“Feeling-shmeeling chhodo! Baat yeh batao, tumne kya kiya? Kuch kaha? Ya sirf sapne dekhte rahe?”
(Forget the feelings! Tell me what you did? Did you say anything? Or were you just daydreaming?)
Ali (slightly embarrassed, but excited):
“Yaar, humne thodi der baatein ki. Phir pata hai kya? Sara ne mujhe khud pucha, ‘Phir kab miloge?’”
(Bro, we talked for a while. Then guess what? Sara herself asked me, ‘When will we meet again?’)
Danish (mockingly gasping):
“Arey wah! Sara madam se aisi baatein! Yeh toh tumhara dream sach ho raha hai!”
(Oh wow! Sara asking things like that? Your dream is coming true!)
Ali (smiling to himself, thinking deeply):
“Yaar, mujhe laga ke shayad… shayad woh bhi mujhe pasand karti hai. Uske baaton mein kuch tha.”
(Bro, I feel like… maybe she likes me too. There was something in her words.)
Danish (laughing louder, teasing Ali more):
“Haan, haan! Aur ab tum mujhe kahoge, ‘Meri duniya sirf uske ird-gird ghoomti hai!’”
(Yeah, yeah! And now you’re going to tell me, ‘My world revolves around her!’)
Ali (laughing but still serious, sighing romantically):
“Yaar Danish, mazaak mat uda. Uska chehra… uski muskurahat… main ab bas usi ke baare mein sochta hoon.”
(Bro, Danish, don’t make fun. Her face… her smile… I can’t stop thinking about her.)
Danish (mocking Ali’s tone, pretending to be serious):
“Arre wah! Romance ka overdose ho raha hai! Ali bhai, tum toh full hero ban gaye ho!”
(Oh wow! It’s a romance overdose! Ali, you’ve turned into a full hero!)
Ali (chuckling, a bit shy):
“Haan, hero nahi, lekin kuch toh hai. Usne jo kaha na, us baat ne mere dil ko chain diya hai.”
(Yeah, maybe not a hero, but there’s something. What she said has really given peace to my heart.)
Danish (teasing again):
“Chain mila hai? Acha? Ya chain khoya hai? Kyonki yeh romance tumhe neend se door rakh raha hai!”
(Found peace? Really? Or lost it? Because this romance seems to be keeping you awake at night!)
Ali (laughing and throwing a pillow at the imaginary Danish on the other side of the phone):
“Bas kar yaar! Kabhi toh serious ho ja!”
(Cut it out, man! Be serious for once!)
Danish (mocking seriousness, chuckling):
“Achha, achha! Seriously? Tumne agle milne ka plan banaya ya nahi? Sara se milne ke liye kya tareekein sochi hain?”
(Alright, alright! Seriously? Did you make a plan for the next meeting or not? What ways have you thought of to meet Sara again?)
Ali (smiling, thoughtful):
“Usne library ka plan banaya tha. Socha hai kal wahan milunga, but dekhte hain…”
(She made a plan for the library. I’m thinking of meeting her there tomorrow, but let’s see…)
Danish (laughing, clearly enjoying Ali’s love-struck state):
“Library ka plan! Wah bhai, romance aur kitaabon ka combo. Kitabein padho ya Sara ko dekho?”
(A library plan! Wow, bro, a romance and books combo. Are you going to read the books, or just stare at Sara?)
Ali (smiling, shaking his head):
“Dono! Kitabein bhi padhenge aur Sara ko bhi dekhenge.”
(Both! I’ll read the books and look at Sara too.)
Danish (playfully):
“Haan, haan! Mujhe toh yeh bhi lagta hai ke tumne ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ ka pura script yaad kar liya hoga!”
(Yeah, yeah! I bet you’ve memorized the entire script of ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ by now!)
Ali (laughing hard):
“Chup kar! Bas kal ki taiyaari karni hai. Dekhta hoon, kya hota hai.”
(Shut up! I just need to prepare for tomorrow. Let’s see what happens.)
Danish (grinning over the phone):
“Good luck, lover boy! Main toh intezaar kar raha hoon tere next romance update ka!”
(Good luck, lover boy! I’m waiting for your next romance update!)
Ali (laughing, smiling to himself):
“Mil jayega, mil jayega. Tujhe sab bataunga!”
(You’ll get it, you’ll get it. I’ll tell you everything!)
(As Ali hangs up, he lies back on his bed, smiling, thinking about his meeting with Sara and what might happen next.)
