Episode 9: The Final Truth Unfolds
Sarah looks at him, her face pale. She had thought Mr. White was just another victim like them, but now, the cold expression on his face tells her otherwise.
Mr. White: (coldly) You see, Sarah, I’m not just some guest here like the rest of you. I’m the one who invited all of you here. And I’ve been waiting for this moment… for a long, long time.
David’s jaw drops in disbelief. Sarah can barely breathe as the truth begins to sink in.
David: (shocked) What? You’re behind all of this?
Mr. White nods slowly, his smile never fading.
Mr. White: (mocking) Oh yes. Every riddle, every twisted game—it was all me. And it all goes back to Alex. Poor, sweet Alex. But I’m sure you remember him now, don’t you, Sarah?
Sarah’s head spins as the pieces of the puzzle start to click into place. Mr. White had known her cousin. He had been there, somehow connected to her family’s past. But how? And why?
Sarah: (trembling) What did you do? Why are you doing this?
Mr. White’s smile widens, his voice dripping with malice.
Mr. White: (sighing) Your parents… and Alex’s parents… were cousins, brothers by blood. Your families were intertwined. But that bond didn’t last, did it?
Sarah’s heart sinks as she begins to realize what he’s saying. Her family had betrayed Alex’s family. She knew nothing of it, but it feels all too real now.
Mr. White: (darkly) Your parents turned on Alex’s family. It was all about greed—money, land, and power. There was a court case—a fight for land and wealth. Alex’s parents lost everything, thanks to your family. They were ruined, humiliated, and left with nothing.
Sarah’s heart sinks as Mr. White’s words hit her like a storm. Tears fill her eyes as she struggles to speak.
Sarah: (whispering) No… I didn’t know… I had no idea my parents did this.
Mr. White: (coldly) Of course, you didn’t. You were just a child. But that doesn’t change the fact that your family destroyed them. The same year they didn’t just lose their wealth. They lost their will to live. Alex’s family committed suicide, Sarah. They took their own lives, They couldn’t bear the shame, the loss. And they left Alex… with me.
Sarah gasps, her hands covering her mouth as the weight of the revelation hits her. She remembers Alex, barely, as a little boy. But she had no idea what had happened to his family.
Mr. White: (continuing) Alex was only seven years old when his parents died. I am his parents best friend, like a family. I was a young man back then, barely old enough to understand, But I was the one who took him in, raised him. I became his family because yours took everything from him. Your parents didn’t just betray Alex’s parents—they destroyed Alex childhood, and mine too.
Sarah’s knees buckle as she collapses, tears streaming down her face. She had no idea. Her parents never told her any of this.
Sarah: (crying) No… I didn’t know… I didn’t know my parents did this. They never told me… They’re dead now… I never had a chance to ask them.
Mr. White watches her with a mix of cold satisfaction and bitterness. He had waited years for this moment, to finally make her see the truth.
Mr. White: (quietly) They hid it from you because they were ashamed. They destroyed Alex’s family, and then they tried to pretend it never happened. But I never forgot. I watched as Alex grew up without parents because of them.
Sarah sobs, unable to comprehend the weight of what she’s just learned. Her parents weren’t the people she thought they were. They had caused so much pain, and now, years later, she was the one paying for their sins.
Sarah: (whispering) I’m sorry… I’m so sorry… I didn’t know…
Mr. White’s face remains cold and unfeeling, but there’s a flicker of something in his eyes—perhaps pity, or maybe just a cruel satisfaction in seeing Sarah crumble.
Mr. White: (quietly) I don’t care if you knew or not. This has never been about you knowing. It’s about justice. It’s about making you understand the pain your family caused. And now… you’ll pay for their sins.
Sarah shakes her head, her tears flowing freely. She feels the walls closing in around her, the darkness of the mansion pressing in from all sides.
David: (angrily) So, this is all about revenge? You brought us here to punish Sarah for something she didn’t even do?
Mr. White: (coldly) It’s not just about Sarah. All of you were part of this game for a reason. You all played your roles—Mark, Emily, Lisa… even you. But Sarah’s role… was always going to be the most important. She’s the last piece of this puzzle.
The Host’s voice echoes through the room, a mocking laugh that sends shivers down their spines.
The Host: (laughing) Oh, Sarah, did you really think you could escape your family’s past? The truth always finds its way out. And now, here we are.
Sarah trembles as she tries to comprehend it all. Her family destroyed Alex’s life, and now she was trapped in this nightmare because of it. She glances at Mr. White, seeing him in a new light—no longer just a fellow prisoner, but the orchestrator of this entire twisted game.
Sarah: (pleading) Please… I didn’t know. I was just a child… I don’t deserve this.
Mr. White: (sternly) Neither did Alex. But he lived with the consequences of your parents’ actions every day. And now… so will you.
The room is silent, save for Sarah’s quiet sobs. David stands by her side, unsure of what to do, but knowing that they are all in deeper than they ever imagined.
David: (softly) We’ll get out of this, Sarah. Somehow… we’ll get out.
But deep down, they both know the game isn’t over yet. And with the truth finally revealed, the stakes have never been higher.
Mr. White slowly walks towards Sarah, a cruel smile forming on his face.
Mr. White: (leaning closer) But do you know who our Host is?
To be continued…
